The great lakes region is heavily based around the transportation industry and innovation. Before Europeans arrived in the 1600s, though the Chicago area was inhabited by various Algonquin people several French explorers scoped out the region throughout the 16 and 1700s.

ECONOMY

Milwaukee in 2019 was ranked number eight on the World Global Index and has one of the most balanced economies of any other world city. The city itself is home to 14 Fortune 500 companies as of 2020 and the Greater Chicagoland area has a gross metropolitan product of 703.9 billion dollars.


CULTURE AND ATTRACTIONS

These two cities are both incredible hubs of culture, food, architecture, Chicago received about 58 million visitors which made it the 2nd most visited city in the country behind New York City. Both cities offer far more attractions to list them all.
